Discover the call of the Pyrenees
A place for meeting and sharing experiences, this event offers the chanceto savour, amongst friends, the last of the fine days still perfect for ‘the call of the mountains’.
For cycle tourists drawn to this call,it marks ‘their return from the summer pastures’, for once the mountains begin to don their winter garb and the cold starts to ‘bite’ at fingers, noses and ears. It is therefore the last foray into the mountains before winter.
In 2025, it took place on Sunday 14 October at the Col d’Ispeguy in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.

Introduction
Established in 1950 by the Cyclo Club Béarnais, the Raid Pyrénéen is a year-round cycle route, open from 1 June to 30 September.
A cycle route across the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean (Hendaye to Cerbère or Cerbère to Hendaye), taking in some famous mountain passes as well as others that are less well known.
In 1950, five cyclists set out on the Raid Pyrénéen adventure.
Today we have over 200 participants a year (with a record year of over 600).
Some figures:
- 16 nationalities,
- 90% from abroad, mainly from the United Kingdom,
- 85% choose the ‘Randonneur’ option,
- 90 per cent set off from Hendaye.

CCB’s 90th Anniversary
The Cyclo Club Béarnais is one of the oldest cycle touring clubs in France. It was founded in 1933. It celebrated its 90th anniversary on 15 October 2023 at LÉE Town Hall.
To mark this occasion, a family cycle ride, open to everyone, was organised along a very easy 10 km route, which could be completed between one and nine times depending on fitness levels.

WHO ARE WE?
Founded in 1933, the Cyclo Club Béarnais is one of the oldest clubs in the French Cycling Tourism Federation (it is registered as number 76).
We organise activities designed to cater for various forms of cycle touring: road cycling and mountain biking.
From June to September, we organise the Raid Pyrénéen, a continuous cycle tour that attracts over 300 cycle tourists every year for a crossing of the Pyrenees between Hendaye and Cerbère (or Cerbère and Hendaye) via some famous mountain passes and others that are less well known.
The Cyclo Club Béarnais also founded the Randonnée des Cols Pyrénéens (RCP) in 1946. Originally, this ride ran from Luchon to Pau via the Peyresourde, Aspin, Tourmalet, Soulor and Aubisque passes.
